They’ve been doing it in New York for years and now Newcastle Restaurant Week has taken up residence on the calendar of events in January.

Now in its second year, Restaurant Week offers diners the chance to eat out for as little as £10.00 per person for a week in  January 2012. It’s a great opportunity to pay a visit to a favourite restaurant or to try out somewhere you haven’t been before.

Our special menu price at £10.00 per person for 2 courses and £15.00 for 3 courses will be available at lunch and dinner Tuesday 24th – Friday 27th and at lunchtime on Saturday 28th January.

Cicheti

We’ve brought a flavour of Venice to the Quayside: cicheti (pronounced ‘chi-ke-ti’), tiny, two-bite-sized snacks that sit very happily with a glass of wine.  In Venice, you find them in all the best-loved bars (bacari), where locals drop by when they want something more than a drink, less than a meal.  Perhaps crispy ravioli filled with smoked beef or grissini wrapped with Parma ham.  Why not drop by with friends and share a plate or two over a bottle of wine?  No need to order a meal, but we don’t mind if you do…

‘At home….. with Caffè Vivo’

25th October sees the publication of Caffè Vivo’s very own recipe book. ‘At home with…… Caffè Vivo’ is part of a four book collection featuring the favourite recipes from 21 Hospitality Group restaurants. Our chef at Vivo Glen Robson has teamed up with Terry Laybourne and pastry chef Clare Armstrong to produce a mouth watering collection of recipes. The books are available individually or in a stunning 4 book gift pack to make the perfect Christmas present.

New Aperitivos at Vivo!

Our cocktail list has had a makeover for the summer and now features classic cocktails with an Italian twist.  With our new pavement cafe tables proving to be very popular, what better way to relax after work or a shopping trip than sipping a cocktail outside?  Try a Pink Mojito with lots of fresh raspberries and Martini Rosso lengthened with soda, or an Amaretto Sour with Amaretto, lemon juice and soda sweetened with sugar.  The classics are of course still available for those of you who prefer a more traditional cocktail.
